Defensive / Cooperative Driving

​4 hour course + 1 hr Driving lesson $400

More than being defensive, cooperative driving keeps everyone safe.

The course includes a 1 hr individual driving lesson

The course reviews techniques of defensive and cooperative driving, avoiding preventable collisions.

House Trailer Endorsement

6 hour course $300

This course is for class 5 Drivers wanting to haul an RV greater than 4600kg. (not equipped with  air brakes)

Must supply your own truck and RV weighing more than 4,600 kg for practice and test.

Study the towing a recreational vehicle guide from the government agent.

Must have learners to begin training.

Course content:

Air Brakes Program

You will complete 3 parts to obtain an airbrakes endorsement on your Driver’s license.

  • 16 hours classroom course $400

  • Written test at Service BC counter

  • Demonstrating your skills during an ICBC airbrakes pre-trip

The classroom course preparation is to read the airbrakes chapters in the ICBC driving commercial vehicles book. A free copy is provided at Service BC counter and online:

As the book says on page 2, you are to read chapters: 1,2,8,9 &10.

Do your best to review the pages in the book, at least once. Do not worry if none of it makes sense right now. The course will put it all together.

The written test is similar to the Driver learners license test you may have completed earlier.

Demonstrating your skills will be taught with the vehicle pre-trip. The ICBC examiner will assess your skills, after all your training is complete.

Restricted Space Driving Workshop

8 hour course $800

This course focuses on the defensive driving , winter driving and backing with a trailer components.

  • Identify why driver training is necessary.

  • Describe when and where collisions occur and how often.

  • Hone their attitude skills such as remaining calm and 5 keys to backing safely.

  • Evaluate parking spot hazards that may result in a likely hood of a collision.

  • Identify high and low risk parking spots such as pull through, back-in, and angle.

  • Trailer towing skills forwards and backwards

  • Vehicle recovery choices

  • Demonstrate pre-trip inspection, circle check, condition of vehicle, and have a traffic cone.

  • Demonstrate maneuvering forward and reverse with smooth operation, slow speed, 360 degree check, and using the horn.

  • Demonstrate post-trip inspection.

  • Discuss parking lot skills such as the 5 keys to backing safely, ground checking, ground surface, and anti-lock brakes.

  • Discuss backing skills such as speed, steering correct amount and steering correct direction.

  • Demonstrate parking in a designated area using the learned knowledge, skills and attitude.

  • Describe reporting to EHS and supervisor.

  • Discuss a common collision scenario with analysis, solutions and prevention.

 6 hour course $300

This course is for class 5 Drivers wanting to haul a trailer greater than 4600kg. (not equipped with  air brakes)

Must supply your own truck and trailer weighing more than 4,600 kg for practice and test.

Class 3 knowledge test help prior to course.

Must have Class 3 learners to begin training.
